What is the maximum temperature range of 316 stainless steel?
The temperature limit of 316 stainless steel depends on the type of application: for intermittent (non-continuous) use, its maximum temperature is approximately 870℃ (1600℃F); for continuous use in air, the maximum temperature is approximately 925℃ (1700℃F). However, if subsequent resistance to water corrosion is critical, continuous use within the range of 425-860℃ (800-1575℃F) is not recommended, as this temperature range can lead to sensitization and intergranular corrosion.
